FAQ
Questions coaches actually ask.
How is this different from other youth-baseball coaching apps?
Most coaching apps are built around your own team: your lineups, your pitch counts, your players’ development. Opponent Scout AI is built around the other team. It’s a focused advance-scouting tool: you upload opposing-team box scores, you get a pre-game Rival Report and a one-page dugout card. Four things set it apart:
- opponent-first, not your-team-first;
- the output is a polished, coach-ready Rival Report. A PDF you can print, share with your staff, or view on any device;
- you buy a report pack that matches how much you scout. One report for a big game, or thirty for the full season;
- opposing players are referenced by jersey number only. Names are never displayed on any report.
What sports does Opponent Scout AI support?
Today: baseball and softball, at the youth and travel level. We want to get those two sports exactly right before expanding to others. Additional sports are on the roadmap.
What files can I upload?
Screenshots (PNG, JPG), PDFs, and CSVs. Stats from your scorekeeping app, tournament websites, coach exports. It’s built to handle messy real-world inputs.
How long does a report take to generate?
Usually under three minutes after upload.
What does the report actually look like?
A clean multi-page scouting document plus a one-page dugout card. Both download as PDFs you can print or share with your staff. See the sample.
How does pricing work?
Buy the pack that matches how much you scout. Your first Rival Report is free (no card required). After that, pick one of four packs:
- Game Time ($9.99) · 1 report, for a big one-off game.
- Tourney Weekend ($34.99) · 5 reports, for a full bracket.
- Scout Pack ($59.99) · 10 reports, our most popular.
- Season Ticket ($129.99) · 30 reports, the best value for a full year of scouting.
No subscription, no auto-renewal, no recurring charge. You pay once for a pack and use the reports whenever you need them. See the full pricing page.
Do my reports expire?
Every pack is good for 1 year from the date you buy it. That’s plenty of runway for a full travel season. If you have any unused reports when the expiration date is 30 days out, we’ll email you a heads-up so nothing quietly evaporates.
What happens to unused reports if a pack expires?
Unused reports do not roll over into a new pack. The 1-year expiration is a hard cutoff. We send a reminder email 30 days before so you can use what you have or buy a fresh pack. We’d rather keep the pricing simple than carry partial packs around forever.
What is auto-reload?
Optional. Toggle it on in your account, pick the pack you want as your refill (Scout Pack is the default), and we’ll charge your card for a new pack the moment your balance hits zero. Nothing interrupts your scouting mid-season. Toggle it off any time.
Do you offer refunds?
No refunds on purchased packs. You buy a pack, it’s yours for a year, you use it whenever. We keep the model simple on purpose. To make sure you know what you’re getting, your first Rival Report is free. Run it, read it, then decide whether to buy.
Is my team’s data private?
Your account, your subscription data, and the Rival Reports you generate are yours. Your own team’s roster is never shared with other coaches. When it comes to opponent data: if you upload stats on an opposing team that another coach in the system also scouts, we combine the stat-level information (how that team hits, how their pitchers throw, how they run the bases) in an anonymized way so every coach gets a sharper report. We never share player names, we never share your roster, and we never link any of it back to you.
Do you use player names on reports?
No. Rival Reports never show opposing players by name. Players are referenced by jersey number only (e.g., “their #23 is the hot hitter”). Lineup position may appear as context alongside a jersey reference.
What happens to player names in the files I upload?
When you upload a file, the system reads it once to pull stats, then replaces every player name with a one-way cryptographic hash: a random-looking string that can never be reversed back into the original name. We keep the hash only so we can recognize “same player across multiple box scores” for accuracy. We do not retain the plaintext name in our database. The AI never sees the plaintext name after ingestion. Translation: we do not have a list of youth player names sitting on a server somewhere, and we couldn’t produce one if we tried.
Is this safe for youth sports data?
We built Opponent Scout AI around a simple rule: a minor’s name should never appear on a scouting report, and a minor’s name should never sit in a database in plaintext. Numbers only on every output. One-way hashing on every internal match. Uploads retained only as long as useful for your report history, and subject to deletion on request. Our full youth-data handling policy (including COPPA-aligned language and state-level considerations) is being reviewed by counsel before public launch. If you have a concern about a specific player’s data, email CustomerService@OpponentScoutAI.com.
Will AI make up stats?
No. The Rival Report is grounded in the box-score data you upload. If your files show a hitter is 2-for-15 with 9 strikeouts, the report says so. If the sample is too thin to draw a conclusion, the report flags it in plain language. For example, “only 8 at-bats, take with a grain of salt.” It also shows a confidence score on each extracted stat block before the write-up. The system is built to reason from what the data actually shows, not to fill gaps with invented numbers.
Do you store our uploads forever?
No. Raw uploads (screenshots, PDFs, CSVs) are deleted 10 days after your Rival Report is generated. The structured data we extract from them and the reports themselves stay in your account for as long as you have one. You can request full deletion of your data at any time.
Is this affiliated with a league or tournament organization?
No. Opponent Scout AI is a privately built tool for coaches, parents, and staff. Not affiliated with any league, tournament, or organization.
